I won't go into too much detail about how we got to the gig, but over
the space of 2 days we set off from the small village of Sabden some 50
minutes north of Manchester. Travelled the 350 miles or so down to
Brighton .
We set set up our tent up, in the campsite, then went walkabout. Over the space of seven hours in Brighton town centre i would have to explain the ins and outs of the Sneeze/Godstar/Smugde show and the various members to my girlfriend many times over. We arrived at the Pressure Point about an hour before the show. We didn't know what to expect, we'd even gone to the point of buying tickets on the web just incase it was sold out! After around 20 minutes Nic came thorough the door, he came over and said Hi. We talked about the shows, crowd sizes (Glasgow especially), the floods in France. Tom came over, i didn't recongise him at first the last photo i saw of him, he was sporting an almost affro haircut. Tom went into detail about the Tofu Kok album ( which is gonna be a corker), Evan Dando's appearence at the Southampton show. The mighty Pete Kelly other stuff which is all a bit hazy and the Smudge Greatest hits tour??????????? I'm babbling on i'll get on with the gig. 120 minutes came on first, they played a good set if rather brief, nice boy/girl vocals(i bet that's probably been written many times before). Nic had lost another bet, so he was going mental at the front of the stage screaming away like a little girl at an Nsync concert. Which proveed good entertainment for everyone. Adam(sorry i don't know your last name) joined 120 minutes on stage for the final song which wound the set up. Would have liked to have got a cd of theirs as well. Godstar next up, Pushpin, There's nobody coming over, Esratz, Another spring..., and many more were cranked out(i can't remember the rest, the drink was started to take affect). It was great to hear these songs live, it was just a shame the crowd was small, there was only around 20 people in the place including bar staff. On with Smudge, Tenderfoot blasted away, Ingrown , Alison, Mike Love, The Outdoor Type, it was like being at a band rehearsal. Everybody looked like they where having fun onstage. Thanks for the dedication guys. Sneeze the stage at some time just before 9, and without any shoes on either. BU , Tittie bar nurse jones, shaky ground(leticia on backing vocals). Too much man `(great song), wanna be a woman, ying and yang, ain't no love, dr of luv , deaf girl, 2 new tracks? plus many many more, they even managed to get my request in of Chalk It Up. Went and got signings afterwards and hopefully if the photo's come out i'll be posting them up here or somewhere. Overrall a great night just the lack of attendees put a slight spanner in the works. But the tours got to hailed a success just for getting over to this side of the glode. anyway i'll hopefully try and catch some shows on that side of the pond sometime soon.
